If you want to stay with us, just write us an e-mail (preferred)(enquiries@brightonrooms.co.uk ) or ring: 01273 620 229 or 078 064 519 26. Hello to all our friends old and new. We are based in Brighton and enjoying the fresh sea air and sunshine when the rest of the country is often shrouded in gloom and pollution. What’s more, most of us are based in Kemptown, slap in the middle of the gay quarter. Our friends are all the men and women we already know, as well any other gay folk who want to visit us, whether for a month or just for a weekend. Our rooms are located in the Guest Houses, B&Bs, Hotels and private dwellings of friends. It’s just where they live and hope friends will come to visit. Because we are all gay, we have friends visiting from all over the world, so, not being rich, we have to share our costs. This means that if you’d like to visit us, your stay will cost you a little, but we hope it will be value for money. The Palace Pier with all its diversions is just down the road, as are the Water World aquarium, the fantastic Royal Pavilion palace, the famous Lanes, the grungier or, rather, Bohemian, Laines and the main shopping streets. Also, remember, in Brighton there is always a slight movement of the air, caused by the sea, so it never gets too hot; but it is never very cold, either. |

There are gay cafes and shops all around. There are old-fashioned gay pubs, trendy gay bars and raunchy ones all just a few yards from each other. Two of the pubs cater mainly for Lesbians; men will not be chucked out, but beware of starting any nonsense – those girls can turn mean! Most of the other gay watering holes of all types from staid to flamboyant are in very easy walking distance. The accommodation we offer is usually not noisy, though most of us are just off St James’s Street, “the great gay way”. But Brighton never sleeps and there is sometimes street and pavement noise, usually quite subdued. However, the atmosphere in the huge “gay village” is almost always pleasant, and the inhabitants are relaxed and friendly. Shopping in Brighton: Quality is still available here and you will be pleasantly surprised how friendly and reasonably priced the shops are compared to, say, London. Moreover, they are situated relatively near to each other, so shopping is still a pleasure here. So, if you want to stay with us, just write us an e-mail (enquiries@brightonrooms.co.uk) or ring: 01273 620 229 or 078 064 519 26. |

Accommodation in gay BrightonMost of us have no parking facilities, though there is street and garage parking, the latter at about 11 pounds per day. Most of us have no facilities for pets, so leave those at home. Just make sure they are well looked after. Being adult gay folk, we and our friends often do not guard our language when telling jokes or just chatting. So we are sorry, but we cannot accommodate children - and women must be open-minded, though in our experience our Lesbian guests are seldom prudes. If you’d like to stay with us for a while, just send an e-mail (enquiries@brightonrooms.co.uk), asking if we can put you up at a certain place and at a certain time (at weekends for at least two nights, please). We’ll let you know “by return” whether we can or not. Since we are not all commercial enterprises, some of us don’t go in for “service”. Of course, your bed will be made, if you wish, and your room will be cleaned, towels etc. are supplied, but in private accommodation you may have to share a well-equipped bathroom (loo, bathtub, shower and wash basin), for instance. But the rooms are pleasant, the beds are comfortable and we are all friendly folk who keep our houses clean. Almost all the rooms have internet access. Of course they are light, airy and have central heating. There is usually also a washing machine you can use. Drying can be done at a launderette if necessary. But please note: we accept absolutely no responsibility for your possessions of any kind, so look after them carefully. Brighton, and especially the Kemptown area, is renowned for its eateries, so some of us do not provide any meals, though there are facilities for making tea and coffee in the rooms. Some people don’t want to feel they have to get up for breakfast, “just because it’s paid for”. And breakfast in a pavement cafe is a pleasure in Brighton; this is as “outdoors” a city as you can find in these climes. Most of the cafes do a full English breakfast for under five pounds. For the other meals there is an unusually interesting variety of restaurants and take-aways all around, from cheap to expensive, offering everything from junk food to pub grub, from wholesome homely to exotic fare, from fish and chips to haute cuisine. This is Brighton after all: Sin City, maybe, but Fun City for sure. If you want to stay with us, just write us an e-mail enquiries@brightonrooms.co.uk Enjoy!
